Shadows, Cycles and People in Cambridge

Very contrasty light this morning for my walk from the Park and Ride to the City centre. The low sun gave long shadows and bright rim lighting.

Madingley War Cemetery 1. Into the Light

The thick mist that we had in Toft this morning had dispersed when I got to the American Cemetery. Most of the photographs were taken at F16  though the first one is f2 and is my favourite one from the set with the out of focus crosses and the dominant sun..

Red Deer at Bradgate Park

I spent yesterday reacquainting myself with Bradgate ready for an RPS Nature Group outing on Saturday. Mostly it was cloudy with occasional showers but later in the afternoon the sun broke through just as the Red Deer congregated close enough to get some images of the stag bellowing and the delicate hinds.

Shapes, Shadows and Colours

We took a walk round the Station area in Cambridge yesterday in bright sunlight which created lots of interesting shadows and bright colours to play with. Here just a few that I hope make an interesting set.

High-Contrast IR Cambridge

These are taken with my converted Sony RX100, which works well in high-contrast condition converted to monochrome. I intended to concentrate on shadows but one or two other scenes distracted me like the Cath Kitson empty window.
