Study of Swan Take Off

Seven frames taken as Mute Swan took off - all it needs is the sound track.

Can you elaborate on how you did this - is it 7 individual shots stitched together in photoshop?

Yes it is seven consecutive shots taken on low-speed continuous mode (3 shots/sec) and then put together in Photoshop.

Fascinating: 3 frames/second is slow speed these days :)

Love this one as well. Very nice.

Besides, I find birds are one of the most amazing animals on this planet - maybe it has to do with my fascination for everything that manages to fly, glide and soar.

You have a point, Markus, the metadata doesn't record what drive mode I was in - it could well have been on high burst, 8fps. I tried to visualise how long it would take a swan to take off.

Eadweard Muybridge, eat your heart out! It looks like the camera was stationary when these shots were taken. It might be fun to repeat the process while panning, although this would tend to involve a slower shutter speed. I feel a series of studies coming on...
